SubleaseScout is a platform that connects students with community members ("Scouts") who can visit and verify rental properties. We facilitate property verification services but do not guarantee rental approval, property condition, or the accuracy of property listings. Our service is intended to provide peace of mind and additional information to help users make informed housing decisions.
3. User Responsibilities
As a user of SubleaseScout, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating requests
- Coordinate property access with landlords or property managers
- Pay all fees promptly and in accordance with our pricing
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Use the service only for legitimate property verification purposes
- Respect the time and effort of community scouts
4. Payment Terms
Verification fees are due at the time of booking and are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are displayed in USD and may vary based on property location and type. Refunds may be available under certain circumstances as outlined in our refund policy. We reserve the right to modify our pricing at any time with reasonable notice.
5. Verification Reports
Reports provided by scouts are based on visual inspection and the scout's observations at the time of visit. Reports are intended for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional property inspections, appraisals, or guarantees about property condition. Users should conduct their own due diligence before making any rental decisions.
6. Limitation of Liability
SubleaseScout's liability is limited to the amount paid for verification services. We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We do not guarantee the accuracy of scout reports or the availability of properties. Users assume all risks associated with rental decisions made based on our verification reports.
7. Cancellation and Refunds
Verification requests may be cancelled up to 4 hours before the scheduled visit time. Refunds for cancelled services will be processed according to our refund policy. No refunds will be provided after a verification has been completed and a report has been delivered.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use SubleaseScout to:
- Violate any local, state, or federal laws
- Harass, abuse, or harm scouts or other users
- Submit false or misleading information
- Use the service for any commercial purpose without authorization
- Attempt to circumvent our payment systems
- Reverse engineer or compromise our platform security
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service will cease immediately. All provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
